A young player once asked me, “What are the best things to get your basketball coach to notice you?” There are several things that this would involve. Let’s take a closer look.

Most high school players have plenty of experience on younger age youth and school teams.

Here is my top list of 12 Best Things to get your basketball coach to notice you.

  1. Always hustle and give it your all in every drill and game.
  2. Do not ever complain to your coach or teammates about not getting to score.
  3. Show the coach that you are truly interested in what he has to say to you.
  4. Do not yell or cuss at teammates if they mess up, rather offer words of encouragement.
  5. Be sure to try as hard on defense as you do on offense.
  6. Pass the ball to the open man to get the better shot for your team.
  7. Take your own game seriously enough to work on your skills and get better.
  8. Take care of your grades and classwork to not put your team status in jeopardy.
  9. Take care of your body and do nothing foolish to hurt yourself with alcohol or drugs.
  10. Always be an engaged player when on the bench cheering your team on.
